Marijuana was used chronically in the 1960's. If we go back to those times we can see that many people started using Marijuana but Marijuana became a Stepping Stone to other Drugs such as Amphetamines,Speed, Heroin, Cocaine, Crack, LSD, MDA, Mescaline and Tobacco. Some Examples are the Music and Rock Artists of those times. The Rolling Stones, Beatles, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrison of the Doors are just some Music Artists that used Marijuana and later progressed to harder Drugs.
Why is Marijuana a Gateway Drug?
You May ask Why is Marijuana a Gateway Drug? It is Simple to explain. A Drug is either a Depressant or a Stimulant. Marijuana is a Depressant. In other words it slows down the function of the Brain and the Body. After Marijuana use the person usually becomes Lethargic and Listless.The body becomes Fatigued and Tired. In order for the Marijuana user to get back to his or her Normal State they will eventually need a pick me up such as Tobacco, Caffeine, Cocaine, LSD, Ecstasy, Speed, Amphetamines, Heroin or other Drugs to stimulate the Brain and Body back to homeostasis.
